Document Storage
Stores documents in original format (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, images, etc.). Does not convert formats automatically. Storage is backed by the server filesystem; no third-party cloud dependency for on-premise/air-gapped deployments.
This module provides structured document storage, multi-level classification, role-based access control, full-text search, and audit logging. It is not a collaborative editing suite (editing requires external tools) and does not include built-in video hosting (video references must be embedded via external URLs). These constraints are documented here explicitly.
Functional description without embellishment.
Stores documents in original format (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, images, etc.). Does not convert formats automatically. Storage is backed by the server filesystem; no third-party cloud dependency for on-premise/air-gapped deployments.
Documents can be tagged by project, department, entity, document type, and custom categories. Classification rules are configurable per organization; no universal taxonomy is enforced.
Access is controlled by role and project/entity scope. Sensitive fields (contract values, personal data) can be masked at the document level. Access logs record every view, download, and edit event.
Full-text indexing of supported document types (PDF with embedded text, DOCX text content). Search supports keyword, tag, and metadata filtering. Does not perform OCR on scanned images by default.
Each upload creates a new version; previous versions remain accessible with timestamp and uploader information. No automatic merge/conflict resolution â manual comparison is required for concurrent edits.
Every document interaction (view, download, upload, version creation, access denial) is logged with user ID, timestamp, and action. Logs are retained according to the deployment's retention policy.
This module does not include native video hosting. Video content must be referenced via external URLs (e.g., embedded links) rather than uploaded directly. The module does not include real-time collaborative document editing â concurrent editing requires external tools and manual reconciliation.
These limitations are by design: the module focuses on storage, classification, retrieval, and audit â not on content creation or media delivery. For collaborative editing, integration with external document platforms is recommended.
